Fox Sets Another Summit Point Lap Record

May 18, 2009 – Summit Point, WV - Amiga Christine Fox broke the Summit Point Raceway “E”-Production lap record on her way to scoring a second place finish in Sunday’s DC National. Fox started second for the 46-mile race and spent the first two-thirds of the race pressuring Kevin Leigh, her E-Prod competitor.

Fox would pass Leigh while working lap 15 of the 23-lap race. Fox, would hold her lead for the next 6 laps, but would fall back to second with three laps remaining in the race. Fox, however, did not back down. On the final lap, she would turn the fastest race lap and a set a new E-Prod lap record with a time of 1:23.420.

This is the third lap record that Fox holds for Summit Point.

March 27, 2009 – Gaithersburg, MD – After a long winter, Christine Fox is wrapping up the off-season work on her race-winning Caterham 7. Fox, the holder of two Summit Point lap records, has hopes that the off-season work will increase both the top speed and handling characteristics of her “E” Production racer. “We discovered some interesting behaviors in the car during the last season, but time constraints kept us from capitalizing on that information,” said Fox.

Fox, who regularly competes in SCCA Nationals and select MARRS events, is hoping to have the car ready for the April 17-18 Oak Tree National at Virginia International Raceway. Fox will be making the trip without the rest of the Amigos. “As much as we would like to be at Summit Point that weekend with the rest of the Allsports-sponsored Casa de Amigos Racing Team, we just cannot avoid the trip to Danville that weekend,” said Fox.
